Welcome to the Danville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated!

The Danville Alumnae Chapter serves the City of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Halifax County in Virginia, and Caswell County, North Carolina. On behalf of our members of this great sorority, we are pleased to extend greetings and our warmest regards as you visit our website to learn about our chapter and programs.

We have been serving our region for more than 75 years - since its inception on April 6, 1946, when nine ambitious, dedicated women chartered the chapter as Gamma Gamma Sigma. These women wanted to charter a chapter to promote the Sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust and to increase cultural enrichment.

We are very proud of our history and remain committed to serving our community with programs focusing on Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical & Mental Health, Political Awareness & Involvement. Our national theme for 2022-23 is “Forward with Fortitude, Engaging Our Sisterhood, Empowering Our Communities, Elevating Our Impact.” The Danville Alumnae Chapter stands ready to meet this challenge.

 

It is very gratifying that our Chapter has celebrated more than 75 years of service. We are excited and honored to still be a vital pillar in our region serving children, adults and the overall needs of the community.
